What Is Thread-Lifting In Beverly Hills?

A minimally-invasive procedure using a series of strategically positioned microfilaments, or “threads,” to instantly elevate and firm the skin, thread-lifting works to correct sagging facial features. For example, it can lift drooping cheeks, wilting brows, while slimming the face, defining the jawline and reducing marionette and smile lines. The secret? Placement of threads (barbed sutures) just beneath the skin following the direction of youthful vectors. As the threads are inserted and pulled upwards, the barbed portions snag and attach to the underlying tissue, creating the desired lift. Depending on the size and number of areas treated, multiple threads may be needed; however, the entire procedure can be completed in as little as 1-2 hours using local anesthesia.

How Long Does It Last?

Dr. Nima’s thread-lifting treatment uses NovaThread needles pre-primed with absorbable PDO (polydioxanone) sutures, which are naturally absorbed by the body within 4-6 months. Having been used in multiple surgical specialties over the decades, these delicate threads will never leave you with scar tissue, only an instantaneous, gentle lift that gradually fades over time!

Is There Downtime?

Thread-lifting has very little to no downtime, with minimal redness, bruising and swelling lasting 4-8 days. However, these conditions can be controlled by sleeping with your head elevated, using ice packs and ensuring rest. You should also refrain from excessive head and neck movements and facials for 1 week to assure proper healing.

Who Is The Ideal Candidate?

For those Beverly Hills patients with minimal signs of aging, who aren’t prepared for the extensive effects of a facelift, thread-lifting is an excellent option! The majority of those who receive thread-lifting are between 30 and 60 years of age and have acquired midface sagging in the cheeks, brows and eyes due to weakened muscles. However, it is also an option for those looking to rejuvenate their results from a prior facelift! Thread Lifting After A Previous Facelift

Thread lifting has been gaining more and more popularity recently because of how nice and natural the results have been. We use absorbable threads (NovaThread brand) to lift the face and achieve a refreshed look in a matter of minutes in the office. There is very little down time, and the Beverly Hills patients have been very pleased with the results.

We have noticed a small subset of patients who have had a previous facelift, maybe five or ten years ago, and just started to have a little bit more sagging or drooping. They are not ready to undergo another surgery and just want a little tuck-up without having to undergo anesthesia. We use thread lifts made of absorbable material called PDO, which has been used in surgical sutures for over 35 years. We numb the area very well, and these threads have little catches or hooks on them.

Once they are inserted underneath the skin, they actually grab the skin and pull it upwards to achieve a nice natural lift. It is a nice refresher after face-lifting without having to undergo the knife and two weeks of downtime. Beverly hills patients have a bit of soreness after the procedure, usually cured with Tylenol. Results typically last between 6 and 12 months.
